Students who pass both the first and second round auditions and wish to perform as a concerto soloist at our June 13, 2026 (In MPCC Markham) concert may do so with orchestral accompaniment provided by the YRYO Faculty Chamber Orchestra.
The performance contribution of $1,500–$2,000 reflects the shared cost of producing a professional-level concerto collaboration and includes:
✓Professional orchestra musician fees / Conductor and rehearsal preparation
Multiple orchestral rehearsals with the soloist
✓ Venue rental for rehearsals and performance
✓ Music purchase, rental, and/or orchestral arrangements
✓ Professional audio/video recording and photography
✓Administrative and production costs required to present a high-quality orchestral performance
✓Final contribution amounts are confirmed after repertoire review and orchestration requirements are determined.
✓Donation receipts are available for eligible portions.
🎓 Soloist Benefits
Selected soloists will receive the following benefits as part of the YRYO Faculty Chamber Orchestra Concerto Project:
✓ Up to three rehearsals with the YRYO Faculty Chamber Orchestra, led by a professional conductor
✓ Professional concerto performance in an official YRYO concert or curated performance project
✓ Hands-on orchestral rehearsal experience, including cueing, balance, tempo collaboration, and ensemble communication
✓ Professional video recording suitable for academic and artistic use
✓ Career-building experience that supports:
• Pre-college and university applications
• Concerto Performance Opportunity and festival participation
• Long-term artistic and professional development
Instrument Balance & Final Selection :
Selected soloists are chosen to ensure a balanced representation of instruments and repertoire.
Final decisions consider not only evaluation results, but also:
•Instrument diversity
•Program balance
•Educational impact
•Overall artistic cohesion of the concert
Feedback Policy:
As this project is not a competition, numerical scores and rankings are not publicly released.
General feedback may be provided upon request, subject to availability.
