History of YRYO
2025 Spring Concerts
​On June 1, 2025, YRYO returned to the stage with two distinctive programs on the same evening at Bayview Glen Church:​

Ghibli Music with YRYO: A magical orchestral journey through beloved Studio Ghibli soundtracks such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Howl’s Moving Castle.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Baroque & Classical Gems: A concerto night spotlighting young soloists performing works by Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, and Pergolesi.

Both concerts showcased not only the versatility of the orchestra but also the extraordinary talents of its members, establishing YRYO as a growing cultural presence in the region.

2024–2025 Inaugural Concert
On January 26, 2025, York Region Youth Orchestra (YRYO) proudly presented its First Annual Concert at Bayview Glen Alliance Church in Thornhill.
The program featured masterpieces by DvoÅ™ák, Brahms, Mozart, and Strauss, under the baton of conductor Matheus Coelho.
This inaugural performance marked YRYO’s official debut and laid the foundation for its journey as a youth orchestra dedicated to nurturing young talent and inspiring audiences across York Region.
