​The York Region Youth Orchestra is proud to announce the launch of our new Choral Program. We are looking for passionate young singers to join us for a season of musical excellence, professional training, and community performance.

​1. Choir Divisions & Age Groups
​Junior Choir: Ages 10 – 14
​Senior Choir: Ages 15 – 18

​2. Rehearsal & Performance Schedule
​Season Duration: September 2026 – June 2027
​Rehearsals: Weekly on Tuesdays or Thursdays (Exact time TBD)
​Performance: Three (3) Major Concerts per season

​3. Membership Fee & Details
​Annual Tuition: $700 + HST
​What’s Included:
​Professional Artistic Team (Conductor & Pianist fees)
​All Sheet Music and Learning Materials
​Weekly Rehearsal Venue Rental
​Full Concert Production and Venue Costs

​What’s NOT Included:
​Choir Uniform (Standard concert attire fee)
​Professional Photography/Videography packages
​Personal travel/transportation to rehearsals and events

4. Audition Information
​Are you ready to sing? Our 5-step audition is designed to discover your musical potential!

​Date: Sunday, May 3rd, 2026
​Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
​Location: Long & McQuade Performance Hall, Richmond Hill, ON

​Audition Requirements:
​Prepared Song: Perform one song of your choice (any genre).
​Ear Training: Pitch matching exercises.
​Rhythm Test: Basic rhythm and beat response.
​Voice Testing: Vocal range assessment through scales.
​Melody Copy: Listen to a short melody and sing it back.
