
NORA GUNCZ
Conductor
Nora Guncz is a music educator, choral conductor, and singer specializing in both solo and ensemble performance. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Orchestra and Choral Conducting from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest in 2012, followed by a Master's degree in Music Education (Vocal and General Music Teaching) in 2015.
From 2015 to 2023, she served as the professional director of the "Kodály Point" music program at the Liszt Institute, Hungarian Cultural Center in Beijing. Between 2023 and 2025, she was the founding music educator of the Kodály Music Centre in Toronto. She currently holds the position of Music Director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Parish in Toronto, and serves as the Choral Director of the York Region Youth Orchestra Choir.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Nóra has worked with a wide range of age groups, from toddlers to adults, and has contributed to the musical development of hundreds of young singers and choral ensembles at both amateur and professional levels.
She is presently a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
In addition to her teaching and conducting work, she is a frequent presenter of Kodály-based masterclasses and methodology workshops in Hungary, China, and Canada.
